Eszopiclone 2 MG Consern Pharma
This medicine is used to treat a certain sleep disorder (insomnia). It may help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer and reduce the number of awakenings during the night. So you’ll get a good night’s rest. Eszopiclone belongs to a class of drugs called sedative-hypnotics. It works on your brain to make you feel calmer. The prescription of this drug is usually limited to short treatment cycles that are between 1 to 2 weeks or less. If the insomnia case has had a long duration, seek your doctor for advice if you need additional treatment.
How to use Eszopiclone
Read the Medication Guide that comes with eszopiclone before you start taking it and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once nightly just before you get into bed. Do not take it with or right after a high-fat or heavy meal because it may not work as well. Dosage The dosage is determined by your clinical condition, age, response to treatment, and other drugs you may be currently using. Inform your doctor and your pharmacist of any products you are currently using.
In order to reduce side effects from the medication, your doctor may put you on a low dosage that will then be gradually increased as necessary. Be sure to follow your doctor’s prescription instructions. You must not take more of this medicine than the amount prescribed because increasing your dose may enhance your risk of side effects.
Do not take a dose of this medication unless you have at least 7 to 8 hours before having to be awake. If you must be awake before then, you may experience some memory loss. You may also not be able to safely do anything that requires alertness, such as driving or operating machinery. See also the caution under Precautions.
Side Effects
Dizziness, dry mouth, bad taste, or loss of coordination may occur. If any of these effects continue or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. To minimize dizziness or falling risk, get up slowly from a lying or sitting position.
Daytime drowsiness. You might get drowsy during the day. Tell your doctor if you experience excessive daytime drowsiness. Your doctor will change your dose.
This medicine has been prescribed for specific advantages, which your doctor believes outweigh the risk of side effects. Many patients taking this medication have no serious side effects.
Inform your doctor immediately if you have any of the following serious side effects: memory loss, mental/mood/behavior changes, such as new/worsening depression, abnormal thoughts, thoughts of suicide, hallucinations, confusion, agitation, aggressive behavior, anxiety.
Precautions
Before taking eszopiclone, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to zopiclone; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any of the following medical conditions: kidney disease, liver disease, lung/breathing problems such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD, sleep apnea), mental/mood problems such as depression, suicidal thoughts, personal or family history of a substance use disorder such as overuse of or addiction to drugs/alcohol, personal or family history of sleepwalking, a certain muscle disease myasthenia gravis.
The effects of this drug can even last when you wake up the next day. You may feel alert if you didn’t get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep or if you took other medications that made you sleepy or are more sensitive to this drug, but you won’t be able to think clearly enough to drive. Alcohol or marijuana (cannabis) can also make you sleepy. Wait at least 8 hours after taking this drug to drive a car or the use of machinery or to do anything else that requires alertness. Do not drink alcoholic beverages. Report and consult your doctor if you smoke marijuana (cannabis). The 3 mg dose of eszopiclone. Do not operate a car or machinery, or perform any dangerous activity, the next day.
Tell your physician or dentist of all products you use before an operation, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products.
Overdose
Call 911 if overdose is suspected and symptoms like passing out or trouble breathing occur. For all other cases of overdose, seek medical help immediately. Residents of AU can call 1800 RESPECT.. Early symptoms of overdose include the following: low breathing rate; deep sleep from which you cannot be aroused.
Older age may alter your sleep pattern, and your sleep will now be interrupted frequently throughout the night. Discuss these or any other changes you have questions about with your doctor or pharmacist. Without Drugs You may be able to enhance your sleep without using medications by avoiding caffeine and alcohol in the evening, napping during the day, and going to bed at a fixed time every evening.
Missed Dose
Do not take if you miss a dose unless you have at least 7 to 8 hours left before bedtime. (See also How to Use section.
Storage
Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Not for bathroom use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets. Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless you have been instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed.
